There is a fantastic line-up for this Sunday at the Bedford. Just a few of the many artists will be:
Bev Tawiah is an amazing singer whose lyrics and performance touch the soul. I've seen her at many different venues and she always leaves the audiences spellbound.
shortMAN, my fellow Spoken Word artist and one of the scene's heavy hitters. He always brings something new to each performance and he's one of the few poets who can outshine me at my own Brix-Tongue night!!
Jamie Woon is a resident performer at the Bedford. We had him on "Bespoken Word" on Radio 4, his guitar playing and singing vocals make him an instant entertainer. He's also got this voice-box digital thingy which allows him to play around with his voice to add a different dimension to his act. It has to be seen to be believed.
Jono McCleery has a hauntingly melodic voice which comes straight from the heart. He cites his influences as: Gil Scott Heron, Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding (to name a few) and you can definitely hear it in his style.
This all takes place in the TAVISTOCK Room (top floor) of the BEDFORD in Balham.
