Bespoken Word started off as a small 15 min slot back in 2003. It has since gained an immense cult following and is now a full half hour show that brings the magic of the Spoken Word Poetry experience directly to you. Previous performers included: Pete Doherty, Melvin Van Peebles and Kaziah Jones.
We've been up and down the country reviewing loads of different artists and now the creme-de-la-creme of poets from the UK are going to be broadcasted every Tuesday this month for your listening pleasure.
Covering a multitude of subjects such as: Urban Renewal, Memories of a Salsa dancer and even a Critique of Modern Radio(!), Bespoken Word aims to show poetry in a new entertaining light that can be: funny, sad, thought provoking and emotive.
Tuesday's highlight's include: Benjamin Zephaniah. John Cooper Clark, Zena Edwards and James Quinn.
