Painted Word

I attended an event called "Painted Word" on Sunday, put on by Marissa Phillips and Carolyne Hill. It showcased a play reading of the famous Jamaican play "Smile Orange" by Trevor Rhone.

The reading was directed by Anton Philips who also took part himself. I was quite impressed with the acting ability of the cast. I have seen the film version of the play many a time, so I was eager to see how the cast would capture the the fast-paced comedy of the film in a play reading. It was the first time that I had ever been to such an event, and I had a good time socialising and speaking to the cast afterwards.
The next "Painted Word" takes place on Sunday 12th June, 3pm at the Moca bar (above the Dogstar pub) 389 Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, London, SW9 8LQ. There will be a reading of the play "Miss Julie Mango" by Judy Hepburn. Check it out!
