"Shot From The Lip" are a collective of artists, promoters and funding bodies alike who all have a shared interest in promoting Spoken Word poetry.
Spoken Word events are quickly becoming a mainstay in landscape of London's entertainment world, yet there is very little recognition of this highly underrated artform.
Poets are finding their way into all avenues of media: newspapers, radio & television as well as performing at live venues alongside singers, rappers and comedians. So slowly, the "concept" of going out to see some poetry is increasingly becoming the norm for several people in London.
Such, public approval of Spoken Word has not gone unnoticed abroad, with several US and European poets making regular trips to perform for London audiences. Many of the UK's grassroots poetry stars have gained a loyal following selling 1000's of CD's & DVD's purely by word of mouth.
"Shot From the Lip" aims to showcase a series of Spoken Word events for the general public's viewing pleasure and give them a sample of what has become an underground phenomena.
